RUSALKA BROOCH

This one of a kind piece was hand created from Sterling Silver, hand made enamel sifted and wet packed on copper and fine Silver, cloisonne enamel on fine Silver center piece, Koroit Opal, 18K bimetal

Rusalka is a water and woodland spirit. They often are depicted wearing flower wreaths and crowns. This brooch is personal to me. A nostalgic memory from childhood of magical forests and places with a lot of old lore and imagination. The brooch is large and built around a cloisonne enamel on fine silver centerpiece. The enamel rests in a Sterling Silver setting shaped with thick flat wire. The three- dimensional crown of flowers around the setting was very challenging to make. The flowers were individually enameled and then solder fastened to the setting.

The brooch is 4 1/8" tall and 2 7/8" wide
